Monday Musings

As some of you may know, my little snuggle Puggle, Kira, passed away two Thursdays ago. We were shocked and extremely saddened. It has been a rough week and a half(ish), but we still have Gizmo to love. Please bear with me as my husband and I come to terms with our new routines. I should be back up and running on Instagram and here soon. Visit the doggie Instagram @gizmoandkira for some cute and funny photos!

Finish the Disney Lyrics: I'm sure this has been around for ages, but as usual I'm late to the game. This video of the Beauty and the Beast cast finishing other Disney song lyrics is hilarious and adorable.

Koala survives trip in wheel arch: This story is both adorable and frightening. Seriously, the Australian animals are crazy. A koala stowed away inside a wheel arch and was unnoticed by the driver. After 10 miles the koala was discovered with only minor scratches. Keep an eye out for sleeping animals on/around your wheels!

Mr. Bonejangles: This Marshall's commercial is just too cute! My mom has a Boston Terrier puppy with the exact toy they are advertising. Any commercial that uses animals is always a hit with me. I will most likely buy something because of a cute animal. Except for "Puppybabymonkey".

Modcloth Boo-Tique: Modcloth is known for quirky clothing, but that is what I love most about them! When Halloween rolls around, Modcloth does not disappoint! Their Boo-tique collection has everything you need and more to create a fun Halloween wardrobe and house space! My mind is set on this cardigan and pajama shirt.

Hide a Book Day: Today is hide a book day! Goodreads teamed up with The Book Fairies for their 10 year anniversary to spread the love of reading. How to participate? Take a photo of yourself leaving a book for someone and tag it with #goodreadsturns10, #hideabookday, and #ibelieveinbookfairies. Have any of you found any books today?

Old, New Hair

I chopped my locks (ages ago now)! Recently, I had become extremely bored with my hair. I am definitely all for taking risks when it comes to hair. Though, I will probably never do a pixie cut or shave my head. I neither have the face or height to pull those off.

Hair always grows back. Colors can come and go. If you're looking to experiment with your look, starting with your hair tends to be the easiest (figuratively speaking). People become very attached to their (long) hair!

The biggest, most recent change I had done was to grow out my bangs. That decision was made about two years ago! While I love my fringe, it was not time for it to make a come back. Coloring my hair is fun, but nothing sticks and I always come back to this brunette shade. My only option (for the time being) was to cut a few inches off my mane.

The best decision! I really have missed my short hair. And if you're in Indy, check out my salon - Exclusives Salon and Day Spa - and ask for Tiffany!

Hearts on Sleeves

It is nearly September. While I still want to hold onto parts of Summer, I am ready to bring back my Autumn pieces. This faux leather Loft skirt being one of them. Last year I was on the hunt for faux leather pieces. I like to add a bit of edge to some of my work outfits. A faux leather piece does the trick and won't break your budget.

No matter the weather, a button front shirt is my favorite piece. This particular shirt has a fun heart print! Whether you choose a crisp, white oxford or a boyfriend fit with a fun print - you'll always be stylish.

Summer Plaid

I have been into shorts this summer season. How can you blame me with these fun scallop options from J. Crew Factory? I wore these to brunch and loved it. I was able to bounce a baby on my knee and just have fun. I paired the shorts with this cami top (also from J. Crew Factory). I love this top for food based socializing. It's very roomy. Don't forget to check out the J. Crew Factory clearance sale!

The Children's Museum

Bumblebee is my favorite.

Obviously our favorite dinosaur.

We were challenged to fit the pieces together to complete the plate like archaeologists.

I was actually slightly too tall for this car.

My man, Han.

Mom, why did I never have this Mattel car?!

Lela London and I spent a magical day at The Indianapolis Children's Museum. It was basically her goodbye to Indy. I try to make a trip to the museum at least once a year, but Lela had not been since she was... well... a child. It was definitely a must visit for her.

Even though it's technically for children, the museum caters to all age groups. They are always adding new, featured exhibits and keeping their regular exhibits updated. The Dinosphere is one of my favorite regulars. Dinosaurs have always fascinated me! The newest exhibits, American Pop and Circus - Starring You, are by far two of the best featured exhibits I've seen so far (though I'm not sure anything could beat Barbie). Everything is so well curated and displayed.

My face during every Doctor Who episode.

After all that walking (and learning), Lela and I settled in for some Doctor Who episodes. I've converted her into a fan, something I am most deeply proud. And a good binge is nothing without drinks and popcorn!
