Nice Frock

Original Dress: The Kooples Fancy Crepe and Lace Dress

Target $99

Finding a character whose style is similar to your own is really fantastic. Occasionally they (really the style/costume department) put together an ensemble you wouldn't necessarily have thought of, but you love it. You might realize you actually own a particular piece and jump up and down because hey you picked an item that was worn on a show. And just having that sense of connection because you share similar tastes is quite nice. Clara Oswald, I feel, really gets it. Even though she's running around dodging aliens, she still leaves room for fashion. While we don't get to see this orange dress for very long, it really struck a cord with me - great coloring, texture, and simple. So, it was a lovely chance that I stumbled upon this lace dress from Target. Though actually quite different, it is similar in style. And I think Clara would have jumped at purchasing it. I believe this will become a part of my wardrobe fairly soon. Just in time for Spring's freak showers.

Valentine's Day Snow

I feel like every Valentine's Day a major(ish) snow storm always pops up. That's all right, it gives me a great reason to pull out my new LL Bean boots and snuggle on sofa with all the blankets, pups, and fiancé. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is very romantic.

Coral and Mint

It is that time of year I start yearning for warmer weather. I just want to stop wearing tights, please and thank you. So, feeling particularly ready for Spring, I decided to mix some unlikely colors. The orange and coral tones just fit perfectly with the mint and navy. Wearing this combination definitely made warmer weather feel that much closer. The sunshine helped a little too.

Bean Boots

I have finally joined the Bean Boots clique! And it was the best decision I have ever made. The boots aren't exactly inexpensive, however, they are hand made and quite lovely. I trekked through some snow, mud, and wet grass and the boots didn't slip, slide, or even become very dirty. I'm going to have to start a collection.

The Statement Necklace

I love wearing dressier than most pieces. The problem is I don't always have a place to wear these pieces. So, I prance around in my house most of the time. I bought this J. Crew Factory skirt months ago and was waiting for the perfect moment to wear it. Then I received this gorgeous Mirina Collections necklace and I knew I wanted to wear theses pieces together. And that is how one of my favorite outfits was born! I just love how this necklace, a definite statement piece, didn't overpower the outfit (or me!). It only added and made my other pieces feel even more special. Oh, and the skirt... it has pockets!
