Sunday Scarf

This past Sunday was all that a Sunday should be. We started with a lovely breakfast/brunch at Cracker Barrel. Obviously, since I couldn't decide if I wanted something savory or sweet, I chose both. Then we went to see Star Wars! It was so good! Definitely go see it. Right now! As pictured above, I had to get my blue raspberry Fanta drink!

I don't wear many scarves because I generally find them annoying. Well, just look at what this one did to my coat! I will say though, a good blanket scarf can make all the difference. It was wonderful to curl under while watching a film at the theater. It adds a pop of color to a neutral outfit/coat. You can pretend to be the 4th Doctor. Blanket scarves are useful!

Winterlights at Newfields

"Stroll Winterlights at Newfields from November 19th through January 7th amid the glow of a million bulbs—you know the song Walking in a Winter Wonderland? Now you can actually do it, ambling side-by-side with family and friends through memorable holiday light displays, in forest, field and gardens—from “whimsy trees” to the Snowflake Bridge to the grand AllĂ©e."

That little blurb above is from the Winterlights webpage and I couldn't have said it better myself. The tour was completely magical. Watching the light show was so calming and beautiful. The detail was incredible. How did they get all those strands on those tiny branches?! If you're in Indy, definitely go! FYI - go on a week night. The weekend shows have been selling out! And don't forget to pick up a spiked hot chocolate or cider.

Monday Musings

1. Target blazer: The blazer I am wearing above is absolutely perfect. While it is not something I would just randomly pick up, I did need a layering piece for a dress I was going to wear to a Christmas  party. The dress didn't end up working out, but I knew I wanted to keep this blazer. I tried it on with a few different items in my closet until landing on the outfit above. It's a boyfriend blazer, so it will also look great with skinny jeans and loafers - which I am dying to try out. Also, it is currently on sale!!

2. Doctor Who Christmas Special: I have been watching the Doctor Who series to prepare for the upcoming Christmas Special. Spoilers! I'm so excited for Jodie Whittaker to take over as the Doctor.

3. A VR Funny: If you haven't played or watched something frightening on the VR system, you should. It's ridiculous and hilarious for those watching. This video shows a mom watching something on VR and becomes frightened and grabs the dog for comfort. What ensues is hilarious. I laughed for days.

4. Cobblestone in Zionsville: I recently dined at Cobblestone and it was refreshing! The restaurant is off the Main Street in Zionsville, IN. The cutest little street, especially when it is all lit up with Christmas lights at night. The fries alone are worth the trip!

5. Holderness Christmas Video: The Holderness family did another Christmas video in their Christmas jammies! This time they highlighted a lot of their followers good times for the year 2017 and that just seems pretty cool. 2017 has definitely been a rough one, but there were some great moments as well - this video being one of them.

The Last Leaves

The last of the leaves have fallen from the trees and temperatures have started to... well... drop and rise again. Only in Indiana, right? It was snowing just a few days ago and now it practically feels like Spring! How is a girl to dress?

I always thought this would be a shirt I wore in the Summer, but it's so perfect for my Fall/Winter wardrobe! I just love it paired with my favorite blazer and this herringbone skirt. I love adding a fun print to an otherwise neutral (and potentially boring) outfit.

Monday Musings

1. Dog Arrested in Elf Attack: I have mixed feelings about "dog shaming", but these photos are just hilarious. The owner of this adorable Boston Terrier knew exactly how to play this up. My mother has a Boston Terrier and they are just the funniest dogs - just look at that face!

2. L.L. Bean Sale: L.L. Bean is having a 25% off sale with free shipping with the code HOLIDAY! You know you're dying for a pair of Bean Boots and now is the time to click buy! The sale ends tomorrow, December 11th, so shop while you can.

3. Avengers Infinity War: I seriously cannot stop watching this trailer. May 2018 cannot come soon enough. Cap is back! The Guardians! This is everything we have been waiting for since the first Iron Man film.

4. Goodreads Best Books of 2017: The annual list of best books has arrived from Goodreads! I love when this list comes out. Sometimes I've read a few of the nominees and sometimes I didn't realize those books existed. I love and hate this list because I always seem to add at least 20 books to my "to read" list. Check it out!

5. Riverdale Cast Plays Truth or Dare: If you haven't watched Riverdale, you're so missing out. To be fair though, I haven't caught up on the second season. This video of some of the cast playing truth or dare (for Teen Vogue) is just too adorable. Seriously, they are the best bunch! ROCKET POWER.

6. Slippers and Sleep Masks: These LC Lauren Conrad slippers are amazing. I had been looking for new slippers that weren't the usual slip-on variety. These are cozy and stylish. The sleep mask that comes with them makes the set too sweet to resist. You can get the set for $15.29 through December 24th with the code SAVEMORE20.

First Snowfall

We had our first snowfall in Indiana! I had to just jump right out there even though I was still in my pajamas. To be fair, these are rather spectacular pajamas. Waking up to snow is just so magical.

This coat is basically sold out, but the J. Crew Factory City Coat is always a good choice. You can still snag this adorable plaid pajama set at Target though!
